"Since our culture doesn't provide the kind of 'wisdom' initiations that occur in indigenous tribes or spiritual communities, we have far too many people, both in and out of power, who are incomplete adults with arrested development."

Co-creating Ceremonies and Rites of Passage
Living in a culture which greatly lacks the many time-honored rites of passage found in other cultures is having a profoundly negative impact on individuals, the healthy development of society, and the future of our planet. To address the cultural lack of R.O.P. and other "Wisdom Initiations", and the resulting systemic decay I offer an opportunity to work together with you in creating personalized ceremonies and R.O.P. for different life transitions.
These transitions include, but are not limited to:
- Baby Namings
- Birthdays
- Coming of Age
- Middle School Graduation
- High School graduation
- College Graduation
- New Job, Leaving Old Job
- Engagement and Marriage
- Getting Pregnant, Pregnancy and Birth
- Death of a Loved One
- Retirement
- Elderhood
- "Dying Wise" (conscious approach to living & dying)
The Process
My clients and I meet to explore the kind of ceremony they would like to craft to honor and celebrate one of their individual transitions. Sometimes we co-create the entire ceremony together, and other times they give me a sense of what is most important to them about this transition and ceremony. I then meditate and go deep within, to get a clear vision of what would serve your transition; and then I create the ceremony as a surprise.
This is a role I do not take lightly. I apply the deepest honor, time, care, and respect in crafting a ceremony that will suit your unique needs and particular situation. Each ceremony in which I get to participate is a sacred gift, that activates my deepest humility, respect and gratitude.
There are many ways to go about this delicate, valuable, unique process, and you can have as much or as little involvement with the creation process as you like. After the ceremony is created, we set a time and date for its enactment, invite the other participants, and iron out the rest of the details.
On the day of the ceremony I can take a direct leadership role, or play a minimal role. I am simply here to facilitate your unique vision.
It's your choice.
It's your moment.

A Crisis in Our Times
A Great Need
The need for ceremonies and rites of passages is abundantly clear. There is great value in honoring and celebrating our life-transforming moments, with care and consciousness. These ceremonies ease us into the next phase of our personal and/or collective developments gracefully and graciously.
Connection to Mama-Earth
Another vital role of ceremonies and R.O.P. is connected to our relationship with our Mother Earth. It's undeniable that we, as a culture, are poised at a historical moment of great ecological danger. This is due in large part to the decay of our relationship to the earth, to nature and to ourselves as an integral part of the ecosystem.
Celebration of Nature Based Cycles
"That rites of passage would disappear from a society that has lost its sense of ecological interdependence and reverence for nature seems only fitting, since these rites are celebrations of the nature-based cycles in our own lives. What ought to be of great concern to those living in the modern world today is not only the lack of rites of passage in our culture, but the correlating lack of mature “We” consciousness; engendering severe deficits in the collective capacity to identify with and feel responsibility towards others and the natural world." - Jon Young
Growing a Healthy Sense of Self and Community "We-Space"
For centuries tribes and communities gathered together to perform sacred acts, ceremonies and rites of passages to catalyze and support their community members through powerful life-defining transitions. These ceremonies had (and still have) powerful impacts on people's abilities to mature and develop a healthy sense of self-identity and an integrated role within their communities.
Supporting Overall Healthy Development
Living in a culture which greatly lack these time-honored integral rites of passage is having a profoundly negative impact on the healthy development of society and the future of our planet. Through co-creating new and relevant ceremonies and rites of passages for the various "life-defining-moments" we can help support healthy development in people of all ages and stages of life.
